A week ago I was lucky enough recently to spend a couple of days at the FOWA conference in London. It was the first time I’ve attended this event and it was a an inspirational couple of days. It’s a pretty intense conference with most speakers having 30 to 40 minutes and both days being full of content. I decided to give it a week for it all to sink in and then to blog what I found to be the most interesting and useful. So over the next couple of weeks thats what I intend to do, I’ll include as many relevant links and twitter handles as I can.
This week’s first speaker was the HoodenersHorse who gave a really interesting talk on how twitter has helped him to generate business and make new friends. It’s inspired me to start using the twitter account that I’ve had for ages!
The second speaker was Reid Dudley-Smith who talked about Spotify and it’s negative impact on content producers. The talk sparked some interesting debate and left me with some points to consider that I hadn’t really thought of before, although I’m still desperate for the spotify iPhone app to show up in the app store
The meet is held on the first Thursday of the month and details of each event are posted on the website Canterbury Geeks. So if your a developer, programmer, digital communicator or designer and your in the area I strongly recommend dropping in to the next meet.
